So, we bought our own piece of Uganda. Now what?
First, we needed to fence off the land, that’s customary here in Uganda. It shows that the land has an owner. Our local contact (and possible business partner) showed us different options, and together we made a choice.
Almost immediately, people got to work.
The construction site is nothing like in Europe. No helmets, no safety boots, no goggles, mostly by hand, scaffolding made from eucalyptus trees…
The first step in the process was digging and constructing the well (only after an expert confirmed the presence of water). The builders’ work was incredibly tough and truly impressive. They did an outstanding job!
